On St. Patty's Day, my friend and wardrobe magician, Maureen ( also fellow Irish Lassie and southern gal), met at one of the pubs in my neighborhood to escape the craziness in mid-town ! I was surprised that the food was so good as I have never actually EATEN there! I had the Shepard's pie and Mo had corned beef and cabbage (&red potatoes), Both were very good, though I'm not sure the best I've ever had. The Shepard's Pie was HUGE, we shared that, had a couple bites of corned beef and took the rest home! They also brought some yummy bread to the table with REAL butter ( not sure it was IRISH). Both of us opted for a Bailey's on ice and the place was very festive with pipers and kilt wearing men, but not too loud or out of hand. PD O'Hurley's is at 174 W. 72nd Street near Amsterdam
212-873-1900 ( they do not take reservations) Grade: B
It's a great place to have a drink, but go to the back room for dinner!
Have a great weekend, good food and friends and next time, I'll write about Tuthilltown spirits!
Cheers!
